Humans are very good at Hedonic Adaptation, that is the tendency of humans to quickly return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite major recent positive or negative events or life changes. For example, eating a special treat may bring you a lot of happiness if you eat it every few weeks, but if you eat it for every meal every day it will likely start to make you less and less happy. However, there are practices that are proven to be less susceptible to Hedonic Adaptation - that help you to have ongoing happiness and fulfillment.
Onwardly helps you learn and practice these practices, turning them into habits.
What’s something that’s a habit for you? Add a Reflection Moment to explore it in more detail. Selecting the type of Moment helps you start to learn more about a moment and helps us share helpful questions to help you go deeper.
